Opened in 1910, Kirkhill Golf Club was designed by the renowned course architect and five-time Open Champion James Braid. The founders certainly had some vision, energy and only four years after the founding of the club they arranged an exhibition golf match which was held in June 1914. The legendary golfer Harry Vardon, 6 times Open champion played with George Duncan who also won the Open in 1920.
The course measures 6.030 yards with a par of 70. Visitors to Kirkhill Golf Club can expect to find lush fairways and well-maintained putting surfaces. Carefully placed bunkering alongside natural hazards protect the course & await any shots lacking accuracy.
The course located on the outskirts of the city of Glasgow in the South Lanarkshire area, offering visitors breathe-taking panoramic views of the city from the elevated areas on the course. Visitors can also enjoy views of the Arrochar Alps, Ben Lomond & north to the Campsie Hills.
A new Kirkhill clubhouse was built in 2005, which now offers members & guests modern facilities such as brand-new shower & locker rooms. The renovated bar & restaurant offer an extensive menu that caters for all visitor needs.
