Located on the outskirts of Southampton, Stoneham Golf club is a regular in the Top 100 courses in England. The course was designed by one of the world’s best golf architects, and two-time Open champion Willie Park Jnr. The Golf club is steeped in history, in 1946 Stoneham hosted the first ever Dunlop Masters Golf tournament which is now the British Masters and in 1959 the clubhouse was opened by the current Ryder Cup captain at that time Dai Rees. The course is a beautifully laid out parkland course which offers a wonderful selection of holes and a good challenge to every level of golfer. The golf course is 6400 yards long, and due to the undulations of the course it is rare that you will get a flat lie. Alongside the small greens this puts emphasis on a good short game. Stoneham is a Par 71 Golf course which features 4 par 5s, 5 par 3s and the remaining 9 Par 4s giving the course a good balance. A signature hole is the short par 4 13, This is a short Par 4 measuring 270 yards into a blind green which offers a great risk or reward for the golfers brave enough to take it on. Stoneham is always maintained to an exceptional standard and the staff are always very friendly, offering plenty of tips and tricks for the course.
